At least 10 planes belonging to the Russian side have been stuck in German airports for more than five months. This is due to the closure of the airspace of EU countries and the introduction of anti-Russian sanctions, writes Deutsche Welle (included in the register of foreign media).
Planes are prohibited from taking off and flying in accordance with the sanctions regime of the European Union. In addition, the owners of the vessels themselves cannot use them or send them to other places.
It is clarified that at the moment there are three AN-124 aircraft in Leipzig, one Bombardier Challenger 300 and a Boeing 737 in Cologne, a Boeing 747 at Frankfurt—Hahn Airport, a Cessna 750 in Baden-Baden, as well as two Embraer Legacy 600 and Bombardier Global Express cars. Each vessel was used for business trips.
Russian airspace is closed to foreign airlines from the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and the European Union due to the start of a special operation in Ukraine. The restrictions were introduced in response to similar measures taken by the authorities of these countries in relation to Russian courts.
